Submission Guidelines: Please… do not Submit no more than 48 hours before the deadline. Use the entire week to revisit and improve your work before submission. Purpose: This exercise helps you gather and organize source information, making it easier to outline and draft your executive summary. Follow the template provided in the weekly module for formatting. Requirements: Submit 10 annotations (2 scholarly/trade journals, 3 professional sources, and 5 public sources). Sources must be from 2024 or later to ensure relevance (any annotations for sources before 2024 will receive 0 points). If you have more than 10 sources, submit the best 10 examples. Only 10 annotations will be scored. Annotation Expectations: Source Type and APA Citation (2 points) Indicate whether the source is scholarly, professional, or public. Include an APA citation with the access date, database, and a link (so I can access the source). Summary and Evidence (6 points) Summary: Briefly summarize the source in 1-2 paragraphs, highlighting the author’s main argument (pro/con or mixed stance). Use phrases like “the author argues” or “the article states.” Evidence: List specific pro and con evidence (e.g., quotes, stats, examples) and explain their importance. Include around 3-5 pieces of evidence that you think are the most helpful in helping to establish your credibility. The key here isn’t quantity; instead, it’s all about the quality of the evidence. Stylizing: Bold or underline the most critical evidence for easy reference later when drafting. For example, bolding or underlining the most important stats or quotes, or highlighting your most in-depth analysis. Be sure to leave yourself sufficient time to do this helpful step. Source Credibility (2 points) Address how and why the source is credible by considering: The authors credentials and previous work. The publication’s reliability. Would your peers know of it? The type of evidence provided and its reliability. Any potential biases or gaps in the content. Where/how did you locate the source? Additional Notes: Refer to the provided resources in the weekly module if you have questions and reach out for further assistance. While only 10 annotations are required, consider annotating additional sources for practice and preparation.
