Students will integrate multiple public health planning tools and critically assess their effectiveness in developing a comprehensive public health intervention design that addresses a community’s unique health. Students will apply frameworks such as the socioecological model, behavioral change theories, community-based participatory approaches (CBPA), and root cause analysis (RCA) to strengthen their intervention planning.
This assignment consists of three sections. Include the following content:

Section 1: Community Profile and stakeholder engagement:
Select a specific community and describe its demographic, socioeconomic, and health status. Include a table to display the demographic information (age, gender, race/ethnicity, health statistics, etc.). Identify key stakeholders, including community members, policymakers, and health organizations, and describe their role in addressing the health issue.
Section 2: Theoretical Frameworks:
Use the socioecological model to assess and discuss how the health issue is influenced by multiple levels of social factors. Select a theory or approach such as behavior change theories, community based participatory approach, or community needs assessment that will be used to ensure there is community engagement in the intervention design. Discuss how integrating health in all policies (HiAP) can promote health equity and systemic policy change in this initiative.
Section 3: Root Cause Analysis:
Consider what challenges might arise when applying a community based participatory research (CBPR) and health in all policies (HiAP) approach and how they might be mitigated. Apply a root cause analysis technique to identify barriers or threats and work through solutions for improvement. Include a diagram to demonstrate the problem-solving process such as Fishbone diagram, 5-Why analysis, fault tree analysis, or flow chart/process map to demonstrate how you arrived at your decision.
