The role of Reimbursement Manager intrigued me the most because it ties into my current position. The role of reimbursement manager allows you to work in healthcare without being in a physical clinic or hospital. The role of reimbursement manager is to use medical records information to facilitate payments from a health insurer, Medicare provider, or government-run healthcare program. It also stuck out because I currently work in clearance processing and do some of the reimbursement duties daily but on a smaller scale.

I currently have an associate degree in business management so upon completion of my bachelors degree in healthcare administration. I plan to pursue a position in upper management within my company. Pursuing a position as an Eligibility Supervisor or Dedicated Client Service Partner. I have been working within the Cigna group for almost 3 years, and I have worked on the prior authorization team and currently claims processing. The skills from my positions allow me to navigate multiple processing systems and use my knowledge of medical terminology as well as act as a liaison between the patient, doctors and insurance providers. I have over 10 years in customer service. Which helps me understand the needs of patients and partners to effectively come up with solutions to issues as they arise.

One question I have about the role is would it allow me to still be fully remote as I know most positions are now requiring some form of travel. As well as the reimbursement manager is a leadership role the average size of your team considering we work more hands with the insurance providers and the doctors and the patient load.

This position allows me to not only still work with patients but allows me to expand my skill set within the specialty medication and pharmaceutical market. While keeping me on the administrative side of healthcare which aligns with current career aspirations .
