Teaching and learning in workspace

Provide a selection of critical reflections of your experience of teaching and learning in workplace environments focusing on your experience in the following domains:

1. Teaching individual learners or diverse groups (750 words)

2. Supporting and guiding learners (750 words)

3. Teaching or supporting learning through varied approaches in varied environments (750 words)

4. A subject area of your choice (750 words)

You should make reference to the literature to support your arguments and analysis throughout. The markers expect critical reflection incorporating evaluation of the approaches taken, and plans for future improvement presented with high levels of academic rigor at a Masters level.

These reflections may be from the view of a teacher or a learner, but both should be grounded in the academic literature to facilitate the analysis.

1. This assignment has been left as open as possible to allow you to express the varied aspects of your role as an educator and learner. Therefore we do not prescribe any specific model of reflection. We do want to see the process of some form of critical evaluation centred on your own experience. Ideally this will operate at the level of critical reflection as described in the module content. Therefore in each section we would like to see:

III. Your evaluation of that situation informed by your own experiences and the underlying theories discussed in the module.

IV. How this experience will impact future practice.

It is strongly advised you tether your critical discussion to a specific experience you have had. This will allow you to discuss specifics rather than generalities. This could be a single teaching session, or a longitudinal teaching experience.

Longitudinal teaching relationships (i.e. long term placements)

Remediation for failing students
