Assignment – Week 3: Are you a domino?

The purpose of this assignment is to assist you in meeting the following unit objectives:

• Develop a foundational understanding of effective healthcare leadership and communication by applying diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural competencies. (CLO 4)
• Demonstrate the ability to use complexity science and systems theory in the design, delivery, and evaluation of healthcare. (CLO 6)
• Design and implement systems change strategies that improve the care environment. (CLO 7)

Instructions:

1- Utilize Your Approved Health Policy Topic (Week 2)

2- Use the health policy topic you previously selected and received approval for earlier in the term.

3- Review Leadership Readings

4- Examine this weeks leadership readings, focusing on dialogue, moral courage and ethics, and systems theory.

5- Apply One Leadership Concept

• Choose one of these leadership concepts (dialogue, moral courage, or systems theory) and apply it to your health policy topic. Your analysis should address:

1. How this leadership concept strengthens the case for change related to your policy topic.
2. How you, as a healthcare leader, can act as a domino in the change process (reference the TED Talk resource provided in the assignment below).

7- Develop Your Written Analysis

• Length: 34 pages (excluding title page and references).
• Content:
• Brief overview of your health policy topic.
• Explanation of the chosen leadership concept and its relevance to your policy issue.
• Analysis of your role as a Domino in initiating or supporting change using this concept.
• Sources: Minimum of 3 timely peer-reviewed scholarly sources.
• Format: APA 7th edition.
