Presentation: Recruitment Strategies You are assigned to your departments recruitment and training division. Your department has 100 sworn positions. The demographics of your department are 80 Caucasian males, 12 African-American males, 5 Hispanic males, and 3 Caucasian female officers. Historically, there have never been a large number of women and minority candidates applying for sworn positions in the department. Furthermore, the population demographics of your city are 45% Caucasian, 38% African-American, 10% Hispanic, and 7% other races. Furthermore, women make up 45% of your citys population. Your new chief of police has asked your department to prepare a presentation to present to the city council to discuss strategies that could be implemented to recruit women and minorities. Create a 10- to 15-slide Microsoft PowerPoint presentation (excluding the title and reference slide) that applies critical thinking to construct persuasive arguments on the topics in the presentation. Address the following issues in your presentation: Utilize at least five supervisory skills areas (Hu-TACK) to address your strategy to increase recruitment of women and minorities. Utilize ethical rules when preparing a diverse recruitment and training plan in your department. Include recruitment strategies that you can use to increase diversity in your department. Explain how you would increase the number of women and minority candidates applying within the department’s ethical guidelines previously identified. Provide two to three examples. Note: This presentation requires outside research. Support your presentation with at least three scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included. You may consult the online Library, the internet, the textbook, other course material, and any other outside resources to support your task, using proper APA citation. PowerPoint is a robust visual medium. The presentation should address adult learning principles to include visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners. The document you are being asked to present should be presentation ready for the chief of police. Please be sure to include pictures, hyperlinks to outside information, and a sample police recruiting video for an example of your messaging.
