Recall Week 2 and the developmental stages of field experience. What stage do you see yourself at now? What more do you need to achieve or learn in order to feel more confident?
By this time, your field instructor should have completed your evaluation. After discussing your growth and development with your field instructor, review your Learning Agreement and your evaluation. Consider what you have learned, where you have excelled, and where you may need more practice. In this final Discussion, you reflect on your learning and development with your colleagues.
To prepare:
- Review the Learning Resources on self-evaluation.
- Consider the skills and concepts that you learned and how you will continue to develop and refine new skills.
- Review your Week 1 log on professionalism. How has your perspective or experience with professionalism evolved?
Main Assignment:
- Describe two specific skills or concepts that you learned in the course and/or in your field experience.
- Identify two to three ways in which you will continue to develop as a professional social worker in the next term.
- Explain how your understanding of professionalism in social work has evolved since Week 1.
Reflect to two colleagues:
- Suggest one other way in which your colleague can continue to develop as a professional social worker next term.
