Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to develop students ability to critically analyze, compare, and apply nursing curriculum models and frameworks. Students will examine strengths, limitations, and suitability of two models, and demonstrate evidence-informed reasoning to support curriculum decisions.
Assignment Instructions
1. Select two nursing curriculum models from your readings (e.g., linear/traditional, concept-based, competency-based, systems theory).
2. Compare and contrast the models in a structured format addressing the following elements:
o Program structure
o Alignment with learning outcomes and accreditation standards
o Flexibility/adaptability for diverse learners
o Teaching strategies and assessment approaches
o Strengths and limitations
3. Provide rationale for selecting each model, including discussion of how each aligns with program philosophy and prepares students for contemporary nursing practice.
4. Use scholarly evidence: Include at least three references, with at least two from course readings.
5. Format:
o 35 pages (double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman, 1-inch margins)
