For example, I considered High School English teacher or College Professor. I would write an essay about the pros and cons of both and come to an informed decision at the end.
Thesis: Although paraeducators and teachers work side by side in schools, their experiences differ in authority, responsibility, and professional recognition, which shapes how each role contributes to student success.
Feel free to change context of the thesis and use any articles as long as they meet the requirements. Please do not change the two careers.
Formatting and Research Requirements
- 2.5 pages (not including the works cited page)
- Use either the Block Format or the Point-by-Point
- 5 par format essay is required (clear intro, body and conclusion – a par. has 5 sentences minimum.)
- 12pt font, times new roman, standard margins
- The paper must follow MLA format
- Unique title
- No personal pronouns- 1st or 2nd pronouns (I, you, your, us, one, we, our, ect.)
- A thesis statement should be present as the last sentence of the introduction so that it may be identified. Reference the thesis PowerPoint if you need a refresher on this topic.
Research Requirements
- 2 sources are required that must be of academic quality.
- In-text citations and a Works Cited are required. If one of these is missing, then no credit is given for that source. Each source listed on the Works Cited must be used at least once in the essay.
- No more than 20% of the essay content can be from outside sources. This means that 80% is the formation of your argument.
