Structure is the framework of the story. It refers to how a story is organized and how it is told. Elements of structure in “Fable” include, but are not limited to: the repetition of “Once upon a time,” the use of the fairy tale form, the delivery of the story to a person (the therapist). Even the fact that the framework of the story shifts between a fairy tale and reality is part of the structure. How do elements of the story’s structure affect the story’s meaning?
