Content Guidelines For full credit, write a 500 to 600-word essay (two full pages) answering the following questions in prose: Past Charitable Contribution: If you have made a past contribution to charity (either your time or money), how did you make the decision to give to that cause or organization? Hypothetical Contribution: If you had $10,000 to give away, to which non-profit would you give it? How did you find this organization? Explain your reasoning (not just I volunteered there, once). Reason for Selection: Why do you care about this organization? Is it because of the mission, the people, or the programs? Policy or Personal Alignment: Is this charity or cause aligned with: Your policy interests The types of stories that make you angry The types of issues or stories that inspire you? If so, explain how. If not, explain why you selected this cause. Use of Funds: How would you want your money to be used by the non-profit? Be specific avoid vague statements like for their mission or however they want to use the money. Justification: Why did you choose this use of the money over other possibilities? Additional Notes Essays must be two full pages. Deduction: 2 points will be deducted for every 12 page not completed. Cite any external references.
