Include the following components in the PICOT part of your scholarly paper: Title Page Introduction Problem Statement PICOT Question explanation of each component Population of Interest Intervention of Interest Comparison of Interest Outcome of Interest Timeframe Conclusion References Page this research is base on my discussion in week 3 Medication administration errors related to interruptions are a common nursing issue in my workplace, especially during high-traffic medication pass times. Frequent interruptions from coworkers, call lights, and family members increase the risk of omitted steps and wrong-time medication administration. These errors impact patient safety and increase nurse stress and workload. Implementing a no interruption medication administration protocol, such as wearing visual cues and designating quiet zones, has been supported in nursing literature. Evidence shows that structured interruption-reduction strategies significantly decrease medication errors and improve adherence to the five rights of medication administration. This intervention focuses on nursing practice improvement rather than direct patient manipulation, making it appropriate for a quality improvement project. PICOT Question: In acute care nurses (P), how does implementing a no-interruption medication administration protocol (I) compared to standard medication administration practices (C) affect the rate of medication administration errors (O) over an 8-week period (T)? This project allows for objective measurement using medication error reports and audit data. The timeline is feasible and aligns with PICOT selection guidelines for short-term quality improvement initiatives. Institute for Safe Medication Practices. (2020).
