Assessment Learning Objectives: By completing this paper, the student will be able to: Clearly articulate a clinically relevant Phenomenon of Interest (POI) grounded in advanced nursing practice. Analyze philosophical assumptions (ontology, epistemology, axiology) underlying the selected POI. Synthesize nursing and interdisciplinary philosophical perspectives to support person-centered and population-focused care. Demonstrate scholarly inquiry through coherent argumentation and use of foundational nursing science literature. Instructions: 1. Introduce your POI and conclude the introductory paragraph with a thesis statement. 2. Describe your POI, setting, and population. 3. Discuss the significance of your POI to your specialty and its impact on U.S. healthcare. 4. Differentiate Analytical and Continental philosophical viewpoints, identify your preference, and explain its influence on evaluating data for your POI. 5. Describe the value of the alternative viewpoint and the advantages of incorporating both perspectives. 6. Apply Carpers four patterns of knowing to your POI with examples. 7.
