Time management and daily activity reflection

This assignment will help you identify how you spend your days; what activities take up the most time, and where time might exist that you could use for tasks such as classwork. Additionally, this assignment will help you identify the “black holes” in your day, the time you lose doing things that are less productive. We are defining “black holes” as (excessive time) spent on social media, gaming, the phone, watching tv/movies, or any other time that is not allocated to a meaningful task in your day. There are two parts in the attached worksheet to complete. The first is a time log in which you will monitor and type all that you do within a 3-day period. In the second part of the worksheet, you will reflect on your completed time log from part 1 and write a short 250300-word summary of your experience. You will turn in both parts of this assignment. Part 1: Monitor your time in hourly increments. Choose your three most typical days of the week, preferably two workdays and one day off. You can use any three days you’d like. o Use the time monitoring log provided in the worksheet to write down what you did each hour of the day, starting at 5 a.m. and ending at 10 p.m. Even if you do not get up until 10 a.m., you still need to record 5 a.m. – 9 a.m. as sleep. o Do not overdo the recording; record the primary activity for the hour. At most, record two activities per hour. Part 2: Reflection On Day 4, review your completed time monitoring log from part 1 of the worksheet, and then analyze how you use your time each day. Use the questions in the instructions for part 2 to guide your writing. Note: Please do not submit assignments as PDF files. APA style is not required, but solid academic writing is always expected. During the week Monday-Friday this is my schedule. I wake up at 5am. I go to the gym from 5:15am-6:30am. 6:45am-7:30am showering/getting ready for work. 7:30-8:00am breakfast. 8:00am-3:00pm working. 3:00pm-4:00pm lunch. 4:00pm-5:00pm working. 5:00pm-6:00pm I need silence after my work day. 6:00-7:00pm preparing for dinner/eating dinner. 7:15-9:00pm watching tv. 9:30pm-5:00am sleep.
